  • As a kid I remember the Argus would occasionally fly over the Martin Mars water bomber base on Sproat lake Vancouver Island just as the Aurora does today. Back then I would hear the Argus fly over at verios altitudes over my town on a weekly basis. It sounded identicle to our Mars water bombers. The last time I saw an Argus fly was in November 1978 months later in 1979 they were replaced by the Aurora. It would be neat to see an Argus restored to flying condition.

  • I remember as a kid living in Summerside PEI, seeing and hearing these planes on a daily basis and the unmistakable sound still reverberates in my memory... also a very sad day in I believe 1977 or 78 when an Argus crashed at CFB Summerside, sitting in my classroom about ten miles away when the explosion shook the walls as she went down taking a few friend's fathers with her... My stepdad who was an airframe tech spoke so highly of the Argus, I never tired of listening to his stories about them

  • The Argus was a fantastic aircraft for the role is was used in. The fleet was looking pretty grizzled by retirement, and while the Aurora was at least a generation newer it never could fill all the spaces the Argus. A couple of years ago I ended up chatting with an ex Argus pilot and he had only good words to say about flying the plane.

  • no shit, my dad also flew FE on this plane, summerside, i guess around mid 70's. Also he flew the buffalo, voyaguer. He is retired now but still works as a sub contractor for maintenance.

  • Nice Video. My father flew on the Argus as an FE out of Sumemrside until 1967. A terrific airplane!

  • I had the chance to get a ride in the Argus out of CFB Greenwood. Anybody who went to Air Cadet camp in Greenwood in the 70's will always remember the engine start-up at five AM

    or earlier.

  • Ahhh my good ole town :)

  • Blues & Air: Very nice video

  • Love the Argus and your video (my father flew the Argus at Comox 1968-70, after previous years (1943-1968) on Argus, Neptune, Bristol, Lancaster and Liberator). But you need a new title for the video - and the music SUCKS!!

  • HEY Y DIDNT NE ONE COMMENT!?!?
