@AppScreencast exactly textedit just seems clumsy compared to notepad or even wordpad. Notation is a great app for the mac.

I really like the app, I used to use textedit to write little notes, but never kept them organised, this app keeps your notes in one place and there searchable .
Also using Simplenote on the iphone and ipad, you can keep all your notes sync'd with this app, which is free to do.
But yeah the app is very simple and a lot people will want more features, but for me this did the job well enough.
