dude i don't know if u still bother with this old game, but the place with the second tripple springs set and all those enemys in the air (i that area the the place of many paths) can be completed faster. if u want to try to do that, forget that second set of springs, just jump over them boost and jump into one of the enemys that pop up, then homing attack the final one, before the colour ring.

I'm confused O_o
Also I have a very ancient chun-nan video up(Though I was pretty slow) without me lightdashing.
hi awesome time how do u do the thing after the chanin before the red ring and to make your time a bit after u go on the grinding pole dont speed then jump at the top of the hill and boost that might save you about a second my time is currently 2:05 without coming through and the trick i asked about.

I might try that when I get a chance, but I'm none too sure it would be faster. I already land on a speed pad at that part anyway, so I'm going plenty fast enough down that hill as it is.
Unless you mean the poles that you jump from. But even there, there's the light dash (needed to get rings back) which speeds things up a bit. I'll see though.
That trick at the start is done by using the homing attack to the left after killing the four enemies, and boosting. It's tough, but it will come.

OK, I'll break it down.
I boost over the ring after doing the homing attack. Unless you hit the wall as soon as you touch down (which is a mistake, not the normal result), you lack the time to boost enough to avoid a light dash.
The reason is simple - as seen in my vid, the boost actually continues for a second or so once you touch down. This results in you being too far along by the time you can boost again to avoid a light dash. Which in turn necessitates the use of the jump/boost.
