Named after a Menehune Princess, this beautiful cascading waterfall is located off the 11-mile long Kalalau Trail. This hike begins at the end of Highway 560 at Ke'e Beach. Two miles into the hike, is the Hanakapi'ae Beach. A stream flows down the Hanakapi'ai Valley here. Follow the unmaintained trail upstream for two more miles to reach this spectacular 100-foot high fall and pool.

doing it this thursday i was planning on doing it last wednesday but it was raining all day so we had to rescehdual today i went to wailua and we climbed all the way down and i was inside the water fall it was amazing if you have the chance to do that you really should

I went swimming there 2 weeks ago when I went to Kauai... That Hike took a LOT out of me! We actually swam behind the waterfall there's a litte 'grotto' you can hang out in behind it! =)

What a pity! I was not aware of that grotto. I hope to be there again sometimes in the future.

How was the water? It was very cold when i swam there.
