Interesting comparison, I've noticed many similarities myself.
Both have almost identical range, have multiple vocal registres, both started as mezzo/dramatic then lost weight and went up to full lyric, both sing with a kind of passion that transmit itself to the audience.
Atm Tarja has a technique weaker than than Callas (she was "la divina" afterall..) but has all the chances to reach that level and maybe surpass her, because imho Tarja has a better voice quality by nature.

Tarja's such a beautiful woman and has an amazing voice. Loved her from her Nightwish days till present. I love how her voice has a bigger range today.

One of my favorite songs of Tarja in her best performance. Such emotion, happiness, aw, you just made my day.
Only Tarja can give me chills and make me smile at the same time.
