This is likely due to the drive and hydraulic or pneumatic system.
There's a very large loss of efficiency with this design.

Why so slow? it the robot or the operator? The victim would die of old age before it got there. Why does it have to turn around to go back up? I don't think it could climb over anything but perfectly stacked skids.
