my journey for a solution has made me very pessimistic, I believe there is no solution other than to let this disease run it's course...it's obviously killing itself.

voting is futile, protesting is worthless & violence would make us just like them.

I participate as little as possible in this corrupted system and just enjoy the company of my friends & family.

Nahh... society is not declining. It has always been this way, and even worse. Because humans have a limited life span, they don't remember. They don't remember the middle ages, they don't remember the corruption in Rome, and they don't remember all those decline eras from the past. But guess what, I'm here, you're here, we're all here, and those who read this are definitely not declining, they are evolving.

so your saying that nobody should respect anyone - if you don't know someone - you don't know if they respect you so by your logic - you must automatically show them no respect - remember what you said - respect is mutually based - well if you don't know someone you then don't know if they respect you - thats why we are supposed to respect until we are given reason not to respect - if someone is much more powerful- you have to respect there power - they could of course destroy you

I totally agree, another semi-related topic which I also find to be a tip-off of our failing society, many women require a guy who is literally a comedian 24-7 to be happy. I can understand laughs and humor to make a long-term relationship run well, but some women today can't pick a winner to save their lives, literally. Some of the men they pick would make fine court jesters at best, but not necessarily great husbands, and they can't see it. Of course, there are always exceptions.

Why should kids automatically respect their elders just because they are they're elders? You know there are many elders who don't respect children, but you don't often hear people say ' elders don't respect their children'Respect for an individual should not be based on meaningless status symbols such as how old a person is or based on the fact that they belong to a political class or they are some authority figure. It should be based on the fact that the person or group of personsrespected you.

I agree with you. Humans do destroy a lot of things because of stupidity and selfishness. The unfortunate thing is is that it takes that to learn that we shouldn't do it again, well sometimes it takes just that. Once again I agree with you in your statements. However, I don't think we have put the government on us that it is now. The rich accomplished that, but we do vote and vote ignorantly a lot.

@DEMCAD2 Um, I've touched many millions of things without destroying them. This highly emotional statement needs to be qualified if you're going to make it. For example, you've said little to nothing about all that human beings create that is useful, beautiful, innovative, etc... I do not deny that human beings have damage and destroyed many things, but our being the only creatures on the planet capable of this kind of long-term, complex, and thoughtful activity makes some destruction inevitable
