The eye blink reflex is classically conditioned in front of a high school psychology class in 1984. Robert Morecook PhD instructor and teaching assistant [and television director] Howard Reynolds at Region IV Education Service Center, Houston TX. This was done on closed circuit television going out to rural high schools in a multi-county area near Houston, TX.

  • I understand the Conditioned Response. What I don't understand is my fixation (or the relevance for the experiment) of the word 'TOOTHPASTE' on the document in the video. What was THAT about?

  • @Phedrus1975 Hi Friend this is a clip from a live class I taught on closed circuit TV in about 1984. The "toothpaste" word on the paper displayed referred to an earlier part of the video [not shown here] where I demonstrated that toothpaste may be a neutral stimulus in the ginning of a classical conditioning situation, but, if paired with a cute guy or lady, can becaome a conditioned stimulus, such that a particular toothpaste brand can provide a partial sexual response.
