She's one of the most divine creatures I have ever bore witness to, this song brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

Nodules don't permanently "change" your voice. However, you might decide you don't wanna sing like a cat anymore because it contributes to their development. That's why opera singers have less risk of nodules than pop stars --- technique designed to be easy on the voice. She could still sing like that if she wanted but knows it's harmful to her voice so she changed.

Made my cry. Beautiful. She's such a magical person.

@free4allUW "Nodules", really. I blush as I write this, because I *have no idea what those are*. I just went back to look her up on wiki, and got: "Critics noticed a change in Newsom's voice on her latest album.[29][30] In the spring of 2009, Newsom developed vocal cord nodules and could not speak or sing for two months. The recovery from the nodules and further "vocal modifications" changed her voice.[31][32][33]"
So.... either the nodules changed her voice, or the recovery.

@SageKomatsu well. I took your advice and watched Peach Plum Pear (Paris 31.05.2010) as you suggested. I believe her voice is more interesting before her "Nodes" developed. Can she go back to this, or are vocal nodes like puberty ...once you develop them. Are Joanna's vocal nodes unique as they seem? I find her voice enchanting.

Her vocal nodes hadn't formed. They have now. I suggest looking at the 31.05.2010 live version. I was so happy for her I cried. (Though I love her voice either way.♥)
her voice got some getting used to, and it was worth it
