If your bothered by random thoughts during your meditation/visualization you can practice emty state of mind while your awake. You do this everyday unintentionally when you see a real good movie or listen to your fav music. Just focus on 1 or 2 of your senses and dont judge or do anything just be present. The more you practice this awake the easier it is to keep away stray thoughts or dismiss them when you meditate.
