Moi j'aime Villazon depuis la première fois que je j'ai entendu,Pour ses talents de chanteur et aussi d'acteur,C'est un excessif,pas surprenant qu'il se soit abîmé les cordes vocales

Voilà! Aujourd'hui les néophytes de l'opéra écoute ça et disent: Hmm... ça sonne comme des chanteurs d'opéra. Un gros son, on dirait qu'il va la manger. Mais, si ils écoutent Thill, Devries, Vallin, Cerquetti, Panzera, Caruso, Farrar... c'est juste du chant classique avec toute l'élégance et la noblesse du son. Ah! quand pourrons-nous écouter un Werther ou un Manon sans livret comme les enregistrements avec Thill?!

I love the interaction between them. They are both great singers and actors. They are really genuine in their emotions on stage and beyond. When that spark happens on stage, it is magic. Wonderful!

It didn't "click" for me either. Villazon's French diction (lack thereof) is an obstacle for me here, and although I've appreciated him in Traviata, Boheme, Lucia, I'm not crazy about his timbre for Werther. I'd like to hear more of VK's Charlotte before passing judgment... mental jury still out after browsing YouTube! I quite like her usually. Also the orchestra here seemed lackluster, maybe a hair off? or was that just me?
