  • Actually . . . the original does read " . . . of outstripped five nines that dropped behind" The version you are speaking of is a more modern version created for those not familiar with WWI vernacular . . . and Wilfred Owen did not include a translation of the Latin . . . this was written at a time when many more had at least a cursory knowledge of Latin . . . So both of your criticisms are, unfortunately, without merit. Nevertheless . . . the point is the poem . . . don't lose sight of that

  • Your perception of the "mistaken" line is from an later version of the poem. The one represented here is from an earlier version. Do your research and you'll find both versions are valid and accepted.

  • great work, but i have to throw something in there, it's of gas shell's dropping softly behind. not of tired outstriped 5 9's that dropped behind. and you forgot to say the ending of the poem (which is the translation to dulce et decorum est pro patria mori) which is, it is sweet and fitting to die for one's country. messing those two lines up, i think would be destroying the poem

  • Nice setting, I like the music, used really well what is it? Just uploaded my own school assignment of this poem, go on my channel and check it out!

  • Really good video.
