For more info go to: IncludingSamuel.com Photojournalist Dan Habib rarely thought about inclusion before he had his son Samuel seven years ago. Now he thinks about inclusion every day. Habib's documentary film Including Samuel (coming fall 2007) examines the educational and social inclusion of youth with disabilities as a civil rights issue.
Over the past four years, Dan Habib has documented his family's efforts to include his son Samuel, 7, in all aspects of school and community. See a sampling of video clips and photographs from Samuel's story, plus videos and slide shows on four other subjects from the film: Keith Jones, Alana Malfy, Emily Huff and Haggerty School.

Thank you for posting this video preview. I am in a Master's of Education program at Regis University and we have used this video in our class called "The Exceptional Child in the Regular Classroom." as an excellent tool for understanding the importance of inclusion and acceptance of children with differences. Thank you so much for making this documentary! It will help educators nationwide understand more clearly our own precious"Samuels" in our classrooms.
I don't know if you will see this, but as a special ed teacher, my suggestion would be to hire a family advocate - that's a load. YOU as the parent have rights and you need to use them. Go to your states website and look up IDEA and read the parent's rights - and FIGHT.
My son has severe autism and non verbal. Luckily, he doesn't have any physical problems though. This was one of the best videos I've ever seen. Samuel is such a cute kid and he is so blessed to have such an amazing family and amazing group of friends.
