This great Glitter Band performance is taken from a gig at the Plaza Ballroom in Glasgow in 1989. The band always performed this song so well. I persuaded Gerry to record it which he agreed to, despite the politics, but unfortunately it never happened. Would have been a great track to have.

  • I don't remember them performing this at the Marquee gig. I was there. It's certainly not on the album. To my recollection Gerry introduced the song into the live set after Springy left the band. Gerry and I had discussed recording the song as a test for a new cd. It took a while to convince him, even before GG became disgraced. He loved the song but wasn't sure about recording a GG song.

Anyway, enough about that, it's a great song and they always performed it so well.

  • @Glitterbandits Many thanks for the upload. Do you have any more from this gig. Gerry always loved going up to Glasgow and having a good curry up there too with his mate Martin

  • @ggspotter Yep, I have the rest of the gig and more, it's just a matter of the time it takes to convert them and then upload them. I'll try my best.

  • great vocals by gerry a very unique voice

  • This sounds amazing! Does any one have the single they had out in the 80s Until the next time-please post!

  • what year was it @ the Plaza Ballroom

  • I was a and still am, a massive MUD fan, only now do i realise how good some of the other glam bands were, and the Glitter Band r up there with the best......

  • Thanks so much for brilliant footage, Gerry & John working great together, it's a fave clip of mine after many years of seeing them live. The band always performed it better alone! In the early-mid 80's they regularly performed most of the vocals to earn a living-carrying a less than perfect performer who'd become a caricature style parody of himself, but intrigued enough to sell tickets. The band worked HARD night on night.

Incidentally, they recorded this on 'Live @ The Marquee' too 1985/6 x

  • Good stuff!
