OK- In the early´s 80 I have the same european version bike- kilometers only speedometer, same color, all stock I purchase with only 1200 km, wild-direct action 34 mm factory Mikuni carbs, I install 4 into 1, re-jet carbs, and then in the miss shift broken the exh valves two times- Install Dyna RPM Limiter and no more problem - very very good bike! - Actually I have the follow GS1100/82 -- GS 1150 /85 - GSXR1000/ 2008 and DS80 1994!!! - I like Suzukis - Regards =

@bareirosalvador1 Very nice! I have a '78 GS1000 as well as a 1976 GT550 with 0 miles. Never had fuel in it! and have owned A '83 GS1100, '82 GS1000SZ Katana. You should join the GSResources. Incredible amount of info for the Suzuki GS enthusiast and a great forum.

Originally GS 1000 not-equipped with vacuum carbs - I prefer the sotck direct-action carbs! Congratulations! Very good bike - Don´t forget install an DYNA RPM limiter or your valves will death !!! Salvador - Argentina

@bareirosalvador1 In the US the '80 GS1000S was fit with 34mm CV carbs which were on the bike at the time this video was shot. Bike had been sitting up for 20 years with locked up motor. Bike now has 1085 kit, ported head, HD springs, megacycle cams and 34mm Flatslide carbs. :)
