Performing in our Musical Theatre Scene Study class.

For this part of the class, we were all assigned Rodgers & Hammerstein duets by our professor for one of two reasons: the part would be a great role for us to play one day, or it would take us completely out of our comfort zone and "scare us shitless". Lol

  • Umm Ok, The actor playing the king is way to aggressive and almost sounds like he is mentally challenged at time when he speaks his lines. less is more. Anna is ok, but the two really needed to develop chemistry. The teaching of the dance is floor play leading up to the poka which is like sex. That's whats really going on in this scene. They threw away the poka dance... sorry but the scene needed more rehearsal and work before presenting to a professor. thumbs down.

  • I can't say how fabulous this was!! Your characterisations were perfect---especially the King's. I think Anna is quite hard for someone so young because she needs to already be matured and not Laurie-like and you did it very well. I also love the awkwardness at the start and the chemistry eventually :) (sorry for the long post!! but i love this :D)

  • lovely !
