Is the ride condemned now?..... I loved going to playland growing up. It helped define a younger part of my life. I'm a 21 year old artist now and i create strange horror imagery that is much like the exterior of the ride. This ride thoroughly scared the shit out of me and entertained me when i was less than 10 years old haha. It inspired me. I would love to go back so please let me know if it still exists.

What Playland has needed for too many years is a quality hotel to be located at where the swimming pool is located, but keep the pool and surrounding edifices intact as part of the hotel.
It should be affordable enough to attract middle upper end clientele that will attend the theme park as the major reason for the visit.

No, The Flying Witch is still there. It seems the County vetoed the idea of doing away with it, mostly because patrons protested against its removal and didn't want some corny carnaval ride in its place like so many others Playland has.

Thanks for posting this--I grew up going to Rye Playland and the Flying Witch was a favorite since it opened.

The Flying Witch is one of my favorites also. I think Playland should add 2 more dark rides making the total of 4. That includes the Zombie Castle.
