I seen lots of soviet movies and this is a nice story, but it does not have the t a s t e of postwar situation, just interesting interpretation of nowdays filmaker's how they try to show that period. For me that time always will be better reflected in older real soviet movies. Of course, then corruption to show would been impossible, but still the spirit, the taste is missing how i imagine postwar people. Still a nice movie, shed a tear is a must, so emotionally got it to me too :)

I\ve watched about 4-5 russian movies till now and they all fuck me up hhh..the way the plot of the movies are written is so much diffrent than american movies, russian movies are way much complicated and emotionally packed... there's no perfect heros here neither there is aperfect happy ending.

@ZepiProch напишите в местное отделение КПРФ. там помогут. кстати для справки: сралинисты Хрущева не любят. вот и думайте
Uhh... so what is going on here? The moral of the story? Is he coming back? What where the bad guys trying to do? I'm so confused.

@doomownage94 Moral of the story?? ...hard to say ...shit happens to good people? I think he will come back after he tries to 'set things right' somehow with the murder of the general and Vera. Can't imagine what he can do though. The bad guys were trying to get the information the general had implicating a high KGB official as responsible for letting the ship burn and sink years before. Watch it again, it's not really so confusing. :)

I was able to follow the story without looking so much at the subtitles. I felt bad for Vera. The driver loved her and felt bad for him in the end.

@Hogums Yeah, Vera started out as a spoiled brat, but it was just an angry protective shell. I think the driver was a class guy, who genuinely loved her, and had very high principles, was always trying to do what was right.

wtf?! soo what happens thenn!? annd soo did he rape her or notttt annd were they doing it before anyhow?! aghhhh mann that was confusing but either way an ausome and great movie!

@BijiApoCheHugoChavez I say he didn't rape her, she wanted it also, basically from the moment they met, but I don't think they ever did before then. That's why it was such a powerful scene because it was a release of all their emotions: mutual attraction, but not love, finally doing what they had thought of many times plus anger and frustration at their 'low' status, working in a 'high' status family. A brilliant scene.
