A comparison of certain scenes and elements from each of the three film versions of THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE. Edited by Gabe Rodriguez

Yes, I'm aware that there technically was an earlier TV version made in the 60's with costumes, but there's almost no known footage of it today. The three movies are:

The 1979 animated TV movie, directed by Bill Melendez
The 1988 television serial, made by the BBC
The 2005 feature film, directed by Andrew Adamson.

  • @MsNewsTime That's fine. What is your website? Can I see it?

  • Mr Tumnus is a bit of a pedo...

  • @SardaukarPrime Haha, it's interesting how the change in age makes a difference. In the BBC version he's older, so I always thought of him as a "kind old uncle" to Lucy. But in the new version, he looks like he's only 25, and that does add a certain creepiness to how much he likes Lucy. Still a great movie though.

  • the cartoon version is not very emotional... I can't feel with the children... and I don't like Aslan and his voice

the BBC version is nice, because they made very much without big effects and so on...

but I like the Disney version most <3 the children act so great and the world is so fantastic... and the wunderful music... I love it <3

  • I think the Disney version of Narnia is the best of them all. Proper story, great whitch, a handsome Mr Tumnus and the best lion - Aslan!

  • I have so many problems with the two early versions. I'm not criticising the animation and so on, though I admit that I'm used to what we have now, But I just feel that there's something about the acting that's really bad and just how certain things were done. Because there are things that could have been done a lot better even then. I think it stops me connecting with the characters and getting the feelings I get from watching the 2005 version. Or even just reading the book.

  • The Beavers in the BBC version actually made me laugh. XD

  • 8:00 Susan's jumping :D

  • I only really like the white witch - she seems to blow in the cartoon.

  • I didn't know about the 1979 version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe until recently, and the 2005 version came out when I was a teen, but the 1988 BBC version of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe brought back so much nostalgia! I literally grew up with the 1988 version!

  • Lol the bbc's beavers were fails xD

  • @Mareoandanime. I also liked the animated verison but Mr Tumnus looks like a Ompa - Loompa with rabbit legs. The BBC looks good and almost like the book. The Disney version is the best of the all.

  • i loved all the bbc ones when i was little. i have them all on video. and it has great music :)

but since the disney one came out, i have fallen in love with those too <3

but i will always love the bbc classic aswell :D

  • the cartoon version is a bit weird, very childish, I like that.. but that BBC version is plain horrible..
