How National Security Letters Violate Our Privacy
http://www.fbiunbound.org
The 26-minute video, also available on DVD, explores the repercussions of the FBI's power to demand hundreds of thousands of Americans' private records without any oversight by a court or Congress.
Two former Department of Justice (DOJ) officials, Lisa Graves and Bruce Fein, share their views on how the expanded, unchecked power threatens Americans' privacy and diverts resources from genuine threats. George Christian of Library Connection gives his unique perspective as an NSL recipient who challenged the letter he received and the accompanying, permanent gag order. Christian and three of his colleagues are the only people, out of thousands of NSL recipients, who can legally talk about that experience.
The video opens a window onto one of several controversial post-9/11 expansions of executive branch powers. BORDC hopes local showings of the video will open a dialogue nationwide about whether the power needs to be curbed to protect U.S. residents' constitutional rights.
Great video from a great organization. Keep fighting for our civil liberties and keep up the patriotic dissension.

It is a great thing to be getting this message out. Too many of us are so dumbed down, not being educated on any issues such as these,(that by design)has made us to just let the people we vote in to do whatever they want, not what the people want. We have to hold them all accountable for their treason. The oath they take in that thet sware to uphold the constitution and they have surely not done so in passing the Patriot Act.
We need to bring this awarness to everyone in our community!

Thanks for posting this Nancy. I've been aware of your efforts for many years. Your organization has been at the forefront for bringing not only the infamous USA Patriot Act of 2001 into the limelight, but also other privacy and liberty-related issues such as NSLs, Habeas Corpus, etc. For everyone viewing this video, please visit the "Bill of Rights Defense Committee" website at:

"An immoral law makes it a man's duty to break it, at every hazard. For Virtue, according to the old lawgivers, is the very self of every man. It is, therefore, a principle of law, that an immoral contract is void, and that an immoral statute is void. For, as laws do not make right, but are simply declaratory of a right which already existed, it is not to be presumed that they can so stultify themselves, as to command injustice." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you, Bill of Rights Defense Committee, for making this. There should be checks and balances on government power, especially with this administration's track record!!
