This is Beeston Castle in Cheshire. It's an impressive location and it's easy to see why a castle was built there. The hill is steep and it offers a view for dozens of miles in every direction. You'd have a hard time bringing an army to bear on it without being seen from at least half a day's march away.
This is the first footage I've shot with my new Panasonic HDC-SD90 video camera. The master files are in 1080/50p and look stunning. I've dropped it to 720/25p for uploading due to my connection's slow upstream speed, so any jitter, blur, or artefacting is due to that or Youtube's compression. To give you an idea of the strength of the zoom, you'll notice a shot late in the video that pulls back from the distant silhouettes of a few large buildings. Those are the cathedrals in Liverpool, which were about 25 miles from where I was standing!
The music for this video is a mix of excerpts from Ennio Morricone's score for The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
