@joben0002 yeah.. No. A twist and a kick are the same thing, kick serve or american twist are the exact same serve. Prince of tennis just exaggerates everything to keep people interested (it works) and ryomas twist is pretty much JUST like rogers. So it is NOT fictional.

@joben0002 actually the American Twist serve exist, it was one serve that sampras hitted the most, is a mix of top spin serve (kick serve) and an slice serve, whit the ball bouncing high, but to the left and it used it to follow that serve to the net
A kick serve is basically when the server throws the ball behind his head, and then uses his racket to brush over the ball and (for a good kick serve) gets his whole shoulder into it. There is generally a great deal of topspin hit on a kick serve, especially on this one that Fed hit. Also, generally (by the pros) kick serves are used on second serves due the how much slower they are than the standard serve.

It is when You brush the ball with your racket both upwards (topspin) and sidewards (slice) this makes the ball slice in wards to begin with but then on landing it Kicks off to the right, if your a right handed player. This is achieved by pushing the racket out and finishing by the right leg rather than across the body by the left leg (again if your right handed). Hope that helps.
