Some can call it sloppy, some, like me, call it pure energy. A bit of dirt is in fact welcome - he played awesomely here. About the vocals - Turner is ok, but does not fir the band. I'll take Dio or especially Bonnet any time of day. Not everything is in how hight or low you can sing or how fast you can play flawlessly.

Ritchie's aggressive passionate style of playing is one of a kind.

Some call Ritchie "sloppy", I call him playful.

@danbb1984 "Sloppy at the best"?? I agree that Ritchie definitly made a lot of strange solos during his concerts, even though I strongly suspect that he's doing it on purpose. A very moody man, to say the least... :) On the other hand, when he play at his best, there is _no_one_ who can compete with him.

@SJQK Ritchie is a very good rhythm guitarist, but his solos (particularly live) were sloppy at best. Dio was ok, but had nowhere near the level of tone and control over his voice that Joe Lynn Turner had (and still has). Real musicians understand this, but idiot fans like you just don't get it.

@danbb1984 That's the funniest shit i've ever heard! Ritchie's an amazing guitar player and Ronnie James Dio was an amazing singer!
-
Thank god Ritchie Blackmore is a good songwriter, because it makes up for his incredibly sloppy solos and technique. Joe Lynn Turner is by far the best Rainbow singer, you'd have to be deaf to say otherwise.

@mariofan4523 The best!!

@schenkmore0 hmmm, Burgi wasn't the drummer on the Straight Through the Eyes CD/LP.... that's the tour they were on, thus the eyes beaming into the crowd... I saw them on that tour, this was the opening song.
-
@Julian1961 Absolutely, though Chuck Burgi was actually the drummer at the time of this concert.
