  • Ohh bless the little wonan still loving her gardening hope yoz have a good plant season

  • Parsnips can take alone time to germinate. I tried sowing parsnips this year and it took a few month to germinate some came up but some did not this was direct sowed. Hopefully next year, I will sow them in pops and then transplant them. hope this has been of some help. ABORISTABLE.

  • Could I ask for some advice. I have tried growing parsnips for the first time this year. After seeding a block of parsnips and a block of carrots beside them, I covered the plot with a cheese cloth material and kept it moist. The carrots have germinated in 5 days, but no signs of parsnips. How long do you find it takes for the parsnips to germinate on average? You seem to have been transplanting your parsnips. Does that work better than direct seeding?

  • I am sorry to see that you have lost a few plants to frost. That is always a disappointment. A famous market gardener here in Canada (Lois Hole), once advised that it is always better to take the risk, plant early and cross your fingers or replant if have to, than miss an opportunity to get in extra crop. She used to try to take the risk and plant potatoes in April near Edmonton, AB. Edmonton is at the same latitude as Moscow, and you can imagine it is still kind of cold there in April.

  • Thnxs for you vblog I really enjoy them

  • Hi Bunty, that's a superb operation you have going there. Remember the Geli watering can? Well, I tried all over the internet and paid 5 companies for a couple of cans and got a refund each time - so I gave up. Two days ago I was in my favourite garden centre and spotted Geli watering cans so I bought one to try. They are superb and empty very quickly indeed. Thank you for giving me the name, it was well worth searching for.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.
