Soul Train has a whole technicality thing with artists and record labels dating back to when Soul Train started, and it prevents artists from singing live material on the show. Its crazy and hard to understand but nobody sings live.

He broke his toe 2 weeks prior while rehearsing for dangerous tour but Don Cornelius asked him to show up anyway. And Michael did it for his long-lasting friendship between Don, himself, and the Jackson family. I remember this specifically because I was 13 and really didnt believe Michael was gonna perform on Soul Train at that time. It was too unbelievable for me! But what a performance it would've been and STILL was, even from a chair. I LOVE AND MISS HIM SO!!! 4Eva Lives MJ!

Awesome. He hurt his leg or something so he was sitting down. Just awesome anyway. He is the only person who can give a full song sitting down and still rock the house. Awesome. I just love him.
