The closet member of nine inch nails is robin finck, since in 2004 when trent stated that he wanted him back, he said no, although finck was touring with guns n roses at the time, then rejoined in 2008.

The closest you will get to an "official" member other than Trent is Chris Vrenna and that is a stretch- Charlie Clouser was a hired hand, just like everyone else.

he was not a co-founder. he got involved in 94-95. nails has been around since 88/89

i play mess with synths and other electronics and let me tell you something. this fucker is a smart guy, he knows his shit. i listened to a 2 hour presentation he did for a college talking about synths and creating sounds, sine waves, lfos, etc. and i ive learned alot from him.
not to mention he uses a patchwork system that keeps ever expanding.
