I have not herd of many resque people dyeing due to a drunk driver
all thou people do die everday on our highways due to people who drink and
drive.to try to draw a pardox between a person who put there own lives in danger
by cli8mbing a mtn. it is to far a part.People who drink and use drugs sooner
or latter they are going to die. But to climb a mtn that you know
\there is going to be danger that is going to far. And I happen to know these
people were not on drugs.

I herd my friend say many times he did not mind going to the fires
and to the car accidents and plane crashes. But what he did mind
was when people went and did something that they knew was
going to put them in danger. To go right ahead and put these rescue
workers in danger. it is bad enough they put them selfs in this boat
but to put others in this boat because a hill is there and you need to
see if you can climb it no way.And as far as the drunks and drugs
people take

It's their job.
Your friend knew what he was getting into when he signed up for search and rescue, yet he still chose it. Your friend didn't mind putting his family and himsel at risk.
What about those people your friend and other search and rescue teams save? Without them, the climbers could be leaving behind the same as your friend. is the climber's families less important than the search and rescue members?

@LannyB188 Ok then, following *your* logic, does that mean we shouldn't do anything to help alcoholics, smokers, drug addicts, self harmers, people with anorexia or overweight people because they 'did it to themselves'? They know what they are doing is risky, but instead of helicopters its ambulances,Same principle, just in a different environment
-
@Bozewani Actually they did, or at least it's implied when the bearded guy says he and his friend were climbing the highest peak in every state.
-
Hey uh... what happened to the blackhawk?
-
oh. why not this fire, floods, earthqukes, you name it.. My pointe is this
these people put them self in to this boat. They knew the danger. Please
don't ask me tp put my life in danger to go up and save someone
that is just going to keep doing the same thing over and over. showing
no regard for their lives or anyone elses.
-
@LannyB188 - don't be an idiot mate, if the rescue people were not rescuing people up mountains what 'better' use could they be put to? They'd have no job.
-
THey did not mention that this is Oregon's highest point
-
I think when people like this put there lives in danger. And they have to
call rescue into save them. a 1 million dollar price per person needs to
be paid. These people went up on mt.hood they knew it was a risk. i think
our rescue people can be put to better use then saving people who do
not mind putting their familys or them selfs at risk. I had a friend who
was in to search and rescue. He leaves a wife and 2 kids behind
because of people like this. And i don't want to hear it is their job.
"Climbers make their way to help"......Unsung Heroes. May they be blessed.
