On December 5, the Senate will try to move the Lieberman-Warner climate bill through committee and to the Senate floor.

According to the Washington Post, this bill will require a wholesale transformation of the American way of life. Your electric bill will double. 3.4 million Americans will lose their jobs. American GDP will decline by $1 trillion. And American consumers will be forced to pay as much as $6 billion to cope with carbon constraints.

These consequences will usher in a Dark Age for America.

We will be forced to spend more money just to heat our homes, cook our food, and generate our electricity. That home computer?

Gone if you can't afford the electricity to use it. Same goes for flat-screen TVs and even your child's video game system. And things will be no better at the pump: expect to pay four, even five dollars for a gallon of gas. At a minimum.

The only way to address the climate change challenge is through technology and energy efficiency. This bill avoids both.

It's time to Wake Up to Climate Change Legislation.

  • This video creates a ridiculous argument and is just scaremongering. What's worse is that it promotes a head-in-sand approach to a real threat. Let's face it, a little energy suppression will create demand for new technologies that will help the U.S. economy. Plus, anything we can do to reduce the use of fossil fuels helps us fight both global warming and our risky dependence of foreign oil.

Heck, I'd go so far as to say that this video is downright un-American.

  • You're an idiot if you think there's no ruling class.

Here's a clue(ONE clue): They run our central banks! You get that? We have a so called sovereign country and army etc.. but we're are not in charge of our money, they are!

  • @Blk05titan26 .Average global temperature has risen exponentially since the 1800s. Climate change refers to changes in long term weather patterns resulting from global warming. CO2 has been measured directly since the 60s and has shown a direct correlation with rising mean temperature. Computer models show that an increase in atmospheric CO2 is "very likely" (ie 90% confidence interval if you know stats at all) to cause rising global temperatures. In science you can't "prove" anything..

  • Who's funding this BS perhaps Saudi Arabia............ah yes the Chamber of Commerce bought and paid for by foriegn special interest groups!

  • lol yeah, and how about wearing rag bags living in a box for a change?

oh and btw, that video, they at least have candles.

    fucking scare tactics

the kind of life shown on this video is better than what 80 percent of all humanity is "enjoying" so shut the crap.

  • it is a boogy man in the closet and it works there have been the coldest winters on record the last few years all over the country.. yet the earth is heating up eat shit hippies....

  • science hasn't ever depended on proof. It is a matter of evidence, and the evidence is clear

  • a group of scientist have a million dollars up for grabs to anyone that can scientifically prove that it is real ...... guess what the million is still there... its a boogy man that the government can pull out of the closet when they get ready.... open you eyes all around the us there have been the mildest summers on the books.......

  • wow when people say global warming is a hoax, it reminds me of the time when they all said cigarettes weren't giving people lung cancer : /

  • Because Fossil Energy is a 100% safe investment.

As long as fuel goes in, energy comes out. The prices of fuel aren't really relevant, as the costs of the fuel are passed on to the consumer.

As for arguments against consumerism, I would direct your attention to the former Soviet Union as an example of the alternative.

  • Oh bullshit. I'm so sick of this Central Bank Conspiracy that has been floating around for OVER HALF A CENTURY.

I wish you people would grow up, the world (and the United States) have REAL problems you could be helping with (not just the imaginary ones you're dreaming up).
