Dances with Wolves is a 1990 American epic western film based on the book of the same name which tells the story of a Civil War-era United States Army lieutenant who travels to the American frontier to find a military post, and his dealings with a group of Lakota. Developed by director/star Kevin Costner over five years, with a budget of only $22 million, the film won 7 Academy Awards including Best Picture and the Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture - Drama. John Barry composed the Award-winning score, which became a very popular film score. Peter Buffett scored and choreographed the "fire dance" scene. Pope John Paul II once referred to it as among his favorite pieces of music.

  • Magnifique Film !! quel monde cruel , l'homme est née pour tuer !! hier a aujourd'hui ou demain ça ne changera pas malheureusement :(

  • Très vrai. Pensée merveilleuse et perspicace.

  • Did it ever occur to anyone that in a way the wolf is the mirror image of Dunbar? The wolf slowly changes his perception of people, losing his fear of Dunbar but also of the soldiers which leads to him getting shot. Dunbar loses his fear of indians and is also changed irrevocably, like the wolf his nature is irrevocably changed and his changes put him in danger. Both are exposed to something new and frightening which changes them but also exposes them to new danger.

  • Very insightful..

  • I cried when I saw this movie at the theater. I was 12 or 11. The fact that they kill their horse and the wolf, and that he has to leave the tribe so the soldiers don't go after them is really, really sad, it's a movie with a lot of sadness at the end and yet is one of my favorites and it's a beautiful story.

  • Very true..The ending is really very disturbing, especially when Dunbar loses his horse and then Two Socks..Makes you cry..

  • Great job, so emotional, like the entire film. Two Socks a really BAd Wolf, dont you? We really see in this film the pasion, the respect and love to do things with the heart and sense united. Theres a hope for our humanity in this planet. Two Socks, Cisco, the relashionship with Kicking Bird or the farewell of Wind in his Hair makes this movie a classic film ever. one of my ten favourites
