Hi, I was wondering if you knew how to take a time lapse shot with this camera...? When I try to it stops recording after 10 minutes, is there a setting for endless recording? Please help : )

lots of people use depth of field adapters and attach 35mm SLR lenses to their camcorders, this gives a very shallow depth of field (only what you want in focus is really in focus) You can also create a shallow DOF by using a decent amount of optical zoom, this increases the focal length of the lenses but you have to move farther away from your subject to accomodate for the zoom.

I am using the same camera as you but how do you do the different shots as in the first clip the foreground is sharp but the background isnt? I never figured out how to do this? please help me :)
What is the exact effect you used in the 2nd clip, I like it a lot and would love to use it in my videos. Thanks :)

well, it's not a specific effect setting. are you using imovie?

Yes I'm using iMovie..

well, it's not a specific preset. I basically lowered the saturation and upped the brightness, to mimic a film camera that had the iris a little too far open (maybe 2 stops)...that bright, washed look for far away shots (like the skyline here, on the 2nd pass) is really all about brightness and saturation. you shouldn't have to adjust contrast at all. just play around with it till it's right. but make sure to shoot really bright. use the manual iris if need be and open it a little too much.

Looks good. Is this auto or manual focus?

auto. once you get a feel for when it likes to shift focus, you can manipulate it a little bit.
