BBC spurns Gaza appeal - 23 Jan 09

The British Broadcasting Corporation is defending its decision not to air a fund-raising appeal for the victims of the Gaza crisis. The televised appeal would be for the Disasters Emergency Committee, an organisation which represents a number of aid agencies. But, the broadcaster says it does not want to compromise public confidence in its impartiality. Al Jazeera's Fergal Parkinson reports.

Let me remind you that you first used a straw man argument, saying that since Egypt was also blockading Gaza, thus Egypt was also committing an act of war against the Palestinians. Egypt's government is essentially a dictatorship who plays very nice with the west. They do whatever the US and friends say, and that doesn't exclude Israel by any means. By blocking the Gaza border, they are getting in the good graces of the west. But, I'm tired of arguing with somebody who doesn't even have a basic grasp of politics. You will inevitably believe whatever you like, regardless of reality. G_d bless.
