  • je t'en prie Ziryab ,

oui normalement il devrait y avoir "child" mais dans le titre original c'est "chile"

Barbecue Bob est un des plus grands bluesmans d'avant guerre .

  • that sound! WoW its so HUGE! nice bottom end and everything! what a recording! what an fing recording!

  • I've managed to obtain over 40 of his songs. I have listened to, studied, collected, and played 20's-30's blues almost exclusively for 25 years and I am only 40. Mr Hicks (Barbecue Bob) is one of my favorites, along with Robert Wilkins, Arthur Blake,Lemon Jefferson, Willie Mctell, etc . Nice to see him on You tube. I have for years thought that I was the only Blues fan. As far as I know they only released 1 lp (chocolate to the bone) the rest on compilations and, if you can find the 78's

  • Legend!!!

  • Crazy the connection between BBQ Bob, Curley Weaver and Buddy Moss... This song's hook is the same as Curley Weaver - NoNo Blues.

  • There is no time signature this aint classical music dudes, but if you had to figure it out i would say he is playing in a simple 4/4. However he switches between playing on the UP beat and the DOWN beat and also adds and takes away beats based on feeling. Its a messy 4/4 and he sings in a slow 4/4 but strums the guitar as if its 4/8.

Try tapping you foot to it, fast and slow, and you will see that it keeps in time but the emphasis on the UP and DOWN beats change.

  • BB had a nice easy style that white folks would have loved. He would have been a greatly admired performer had he lived into the 60's and the British inspired blues revival.

  • Beautiful

  • does seem like 7/8 on most of it

  • @HSECMAN

    try counting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7

    emphasis on 1 3 5 7

    probably in 7/8 time

  • i wish i could figure out the beat and rhythm to this. clapton's a little easier. anybody?

  • @busessuck1 if you can try and look up Yazoo records i have a barbecue bob cd from them
