Like most women and many children in Niger, daily routine starts at the traditional well. For one woman, Kilma, it is a 30 minute round trip, a trip she will make 15 times today. Finding something to eat is also a challenge, Kilima's family is deeply in debt after last years lean season and they had to give away all of their harvest this year. Water is vital for their life, but harmful to their health. The water source is clean but dirt is kicked in and ropes bring in animal mater and bacteria -- contaminating it. UNICEF has attacked the problem at its source, by building a solar driven water pump to provide clean water.
Just read the latest readers digest, recommended cleanwaterfortheworld (dot org) to sponser some dudes water purification system, led me to this video as well as others. Said $150 donation buys a village clean water. This is a good cause if you are feeling charitable, I bookmarked it so I could donate, tax deductable. If you've got the money, check their site out, see what you think, I think it's a great idea. I get diarhea all the time, but mine is by choice because I eat crappy food.

Scammers, even in Nigeria are outcasts. Nobody like them. So, desist from painting all Nigerians with a broad brush.
Do you know that that most educated group in the United states are Nigerians? Nigerians in America are more educated than Caucasians, Asians. How about giving Nigerians credit for that?
How would you feel if I said I want all Americans to drop dead because they are war-mongers? I'm sure you'd say I'm wrong. Which of course, I am.

Infant mortality rate is extremely high due to poor health care. You're taking a huge chance by having just 2 kids. They may not make it past infancy, and you'd be left with no kids.
You spoiled westerners have no clue what obtains in the rest of the world. You're highly judgmental, without understanding the difficulties faced by poor nations.
Be grateful you're been immensely blessed. Help people in poor nations who have nothing.

The reason that people in poor nations have many kids is that medical care is next to none-existent. It's not uncommon to lose 3, 4+ of your children to diseases.
So, if they have 2 or 3, and all the kids die, what are they left with?
Westerners are ignorant of the challenges of third world nations. You just draw a parallel based on the life in your developed world.
Travel. Visit poor nations. See how people there live, then you'd understand why certain things are the way they are.
