I don't mean to be a dick but Star Trek online already looks shalow and boring to me. WoW in space comes to mind

I've only played the freelancer trial, but to be honest the whole game felt like an insult to the players, so obviously I can't judge it since I never got attracted enough to actually play it. The trial alone turned me off within days.

EVE is far from perfect, i'll grant that. But it is the only game worth playing in the genre, and I don't see any competition arising any time soon.
