i think i would have not made the comment "...even if bombs are going off..." to the japanese band...little distasteful

I beg to differ.
I love tape myself, but DAWs are much more flexible in terms of editing. I'm sure you know that though.

As an intern for 5 months at electrical audio: @cacophonaut: there is a pro tools rig at electrical audio, but albini won't ever use it. It's for the other engineers there and outside engineers. the laptop @priceofreality, he always has his laptop to browse the net while the tracking is going on.

@thepriceofreality Albini does have a Pro Tools rig these days, but he wont use it unless you make him. Don't blame him, its pointless. There is nothing you can do in a DAW that you can't do with tape

@armofinfant they are probably just siked to be recording a record in the States and with Albini nonetheless! but haha who know they mightve toked up in their hotel before coming in each day...
-
@looshkin66 he probably learned it so it would be easier for him to order japanese made parts and electronic directly over the phone.
-
Albini is so cool and respectful of the people he's working with. If only every studio recording situation could be this pleasant.

Great studio...
The insight into Albini's working style is best i've seen on youtube. Thanks for a great post, now finish it up!
