Everybody Needs a Friend chapter 8

{No POV} "What the hell was that?" Kevin screamed. "What was what?" Joe retorted. "Why did you ask Maggie out?!" Kevin practically had steam coming from his head. "Because, unlike you I missed her and-" "What do you mean 'unlike me'?" He screamed offened. "You wouldn't even talk about her!" Joe retorted. "We spent YEARS without her, you
haven't aknowledged her YET! I have no idea what happened before we left but it can't be
so bad that you won't even talk to her!" Joe finished than turned on his heel and stomped
up the stairs. "You don't know the half of it." Kevin mumbled to no one. {Maggie's POV} I went to go to my room when I saw Kevin's sweatshirt. I really didn't want to face him
again. come on coward, I thought, maybe he forgot. You don't forgot forever, the more
sensable voice in my head answered. Out of pure curiosity I decided I would return the
jacket. I walked the short way to their enormous house and slowly walked up the pathway. I
never really did notice how BIG the house was. I reached the door and knocked quietly.
The door flew open and I saw a destroyed Kevin standing there. He ofcourse wasn't
LITERALLY destroyed but his face was full of pain and sadness. It broke my heart to
just look at him. After a few minutes I realised he was waiting for me to talk. "You, um, left your sweater." I said softly, holding it out to him. He took it but didnt
move after it. He stared at me, but I couldn't meet his eyes. "Well maybe I should-" He cut me off by pulling me into a tight hug. It felt amazing to be in his arms. I didn't
notice how much I missed it until now.

Kevin was taking FOREVER to get here. I shivered slightly as the wind blew past me.
I jumped ten feet high as I felt arms rap around my waist form behind me. I yelped and
heard his unforgetable laugh. "Jeez, you scared me!"

"Haha, I'm sorry, hun."

I laughed and we slowly walked back to his house, to his car, to our favorite park.

But that would never happen again, I reminded myself. He had *wince*Michelle*wince*.
We were still on his porch and he wasn't letting me go. Loving the feeling I put my
arms around he and layed my head on his chest. I shouldn't be doing this to myself.
This would hurt me later, but I couldn't seem to care about that now. I was on cloud
nine. NONONO, I yelled at myself. You can't like this. YOU told him to go away. YOU
pushed him away. But he left, I thought. Either way, I didn't win. I pulled away from
him and after a second he let go to. I looked up at him to see tear in his eyes. Did I do
that? Was I the one hurting him? "Maggie," I heard him whisper as I walked away. I don't think I was suppose to. This
is killing me. I looked back his arms were still streched out for me. I wanted to run bad.
I wanted it more than anything. Without thinking, that's exactly what I did. I ran to him
and jumped on him. I buried my head into his neck and held onto him tight. I refused to
move and he didn't make me. I felt my own tears start to form. We stayed there until
we heard someone scream.

"WHAT THE HELL?!?!"
