If we believe the stories of people who discovered America first, then the Chinese, Japanese, Romans, Phoenicians, Malians, Irish, Vikings, Arabs, and even the Templar Knights all beat Columbus to the punch. Doesn't really make the Chinese seem so special anymore, does it?
