The "glob thing" is called a slime, and has been the logo and the main monster in the Dragon Quest series for years. The game that includes the slime and Mario is Itadaki Street and is a Japan Exclusive. The slime is an original creation from the Dragon Quest series and virtually has nothing to do with Mario whatsoever.

that glob thig was actully from a mario game in japan back in 2007. this might actully mean they might make a sequel to the game. i would know this because i know alot about nintendo. it might come out this year,even though its not mentioned in E3 (its a video game confrince) which means it must be only sold in japan. who knows!
