Pasquelge Don Augustine Ivor Dennis of Seeduwa participated in an amateur talent contest held at the Radio Ceylon in 1952, and sang Sunil Santha's 'Waren Heen Sarae Ridee Walaawae'. When the maestro Sunil Santha heard this, he was confused as Ivor's voice was identical to his voice, and asked Patrick Denipitiya to find this man. From that day Ivor has been Sunil Santha's most faithful desciple to date.
In 1958, Ivor Dennis was appointed as an A Grade singer by the Radio Ceylon. His first song 'Kurulu Paraadeesayae' was written by Tilak Sudharman Silva and the music by the meastro Sunil Santha. He has participated in song recitals in various countries including New Zeland, UK, Japan, Indonesia and Italy.
Ivor still continues to carry on with the Sunil Gee tradition, and leads a humble life.
Dakuna Nagenahira is a patriotic song sung by Sunil Santha, and this version is from a recent recording by Ivor Dennis.
