Great job by Daltrey of holding back. If he'd wanted to he could have knocked the roof off. The restraint adds to the taughtness of the performance.

This is from August 1987, marking the tenth anniversary of Elvis' death. Also on the show were Kim Wilde, Boy George, Kiki Dee, Meat loaf, Ruby Turner, Carl Perkins, Ben E King, Dave Edmunds, Elkie Brookes, and many others. The long production was called Love Me Tender.
