Maher later Admits He Was Incorrect.

"Politically Incorrect" host Bill Maher indicated on Thursday that it was incorrect of him to compare "retarded kids" to dogs.

In an interview with the New York Daily News

Maher remarked. "I just said something that should never have been said. ...There is no excuse for it because no excuse would be adequate."
Maher's comments were underscored by ABC Entertainment Co-chairman Stu Bloomberg, who issued a statement saying,

"We feel Bill went significantly over the line of political incorrectness, and we apologize profusely for the insensitivity of his remarks."

The beginning of the end (of the show) came shortly after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks when Maher said,

"We have been the cowards, lobbing cruise missiles from 2,000 miles away, that's cowardly, staying in the airplane when it hits the building - say what you want about it, it's not cowardly."

Advertisers such as Sears and Federal Express immediately pulled their ads and some stations stopped airing the program.

Argument? Granted there are many types of retardation, but try this: retarded kids are people. Despite what you may think, they have a capacity for learning that is far more sophisticated than any dog. The frontal lobes of every single retarded person are far bigger than those of a dog. Retarded people can make decisions that don't simply reflect instinct. They feel human emotions. How about you go learn about this topic before making dumb claims?

In my opinion Bill is way off base here. Retarded kids are worse than dogs. You can leave a dog a bowl of food and it's smart enough to keep eating. Do the same with a retard and you come home from vacation to an emaciated tard with a full bowl of food 3 feet from him.

Parents of retarded kids aren't heroes though. They're just unlucky bastards who need to feel special to keep themselves from committing suicide.
