interview with young friend in banos

This interview I did of a young friend at the FUNDACION OSCAR EFREN REYES in BANOS, ECUADOR. Senor Reyes's granddaughter, Rosita Maria Gonzalez, is the director of a wonderful arts program for children there. I went on a travel grant from Partners Of Americas to teach puppet making in workshops to about 120 children at Rosita's invitation. I was in this magical town with the most delightful people for such a short time but it changed my life forever. The talent and enthusiasm of these extraordinary children and adults amazed me. And though I was the "teacher" the lessons I learned from them touched my heart deeply. Their interest and kindness was simply beautiful and inspiring. I hope to return soon for a much longer time if I am so fortunate...

she is saying that her baby brother is dos mesas...two months...and he doesn't like to be cold....isn't she cute? she had to walk miles down the mountain to attend the after school program, then walk all the way back home in the evening all alone sometimes. Her name is Patricia....old soul....
