I've read her book, and some of her commentary came across as naive, particularly her characterization of China's efforts in Africa being "pure" when compared to that of the West, which was "hypocritical" and "politically motivated." There is no foreign aid program in existence that is not linked to a national foreign policy or security objective--and the Chinese are no exception. In my view, this might serve as analysis at USAID...but not State or Defense. I'll opt for the Cliff Notes...

China will most likely invest in Africa than Europe. Why would China bail out EU? EU just wasted its money. There is too much greed among European nations. People are living lavish lifestyle. Spending more on borrowed money. Why would Asia feed Europeans? There more poverty in Africa than Europe. There are more people in Africa that are hungry than Europe. And now you see developed countries now in panic because Greece, Italy, Spain, and US is recession.

@MultiAlpha111 I don't understand your logic. Are you saying that because she is American she is incapable of objectively observing something? Are you aware how outlandish that statement is? I wouldn't write someones teaching off just because of where they teach. Deborah Bruatigam has spent years in Africa and China analysing and researching Sino-African relations. She is at the forefront. if not the leader, on research in both Western and Eastern Scholarly fields. I simply do not understand you

@TJis16 have you ever read any articles NOT written in english? An american commentator on China-Africa relations? what a joke!
-
@rufullofshitusa Have you read any of her work on China-Africa relations. She is probably the worlds leading if not one of the worlds leading scholars on China-Africa relations and is impartial and fact giving. You have obviously never looked at her work. GET OFF YOUTUBE and go read academically and intellectually sound scholarly pieces instead of online. Geez

@s1101a Put it simply: what on earth are you talking about?

@MultiAlpha111 Deborah Brautigam. Are you serious??? She is without doubt the most objective, impartial commentator on China-Africa relations anywhere. To even suggest she is aarogant is crazy. She is such a respected academic have you ever read any of her articles?
