I've been thinking for awhile, did Sam give Dean the ring too, since Dean threw away the amulet he got rid of the ring, I had a crazy idea, in the slash world, that it might have come from Sam and when it was immenant that Sam would be Lucifer's vessel Dean got rid of it?!?!?
