@porthector I honestly thought metallica had a good chance to nail the cover but umm yeah it was absolutely terrible!!!! what a failure. nothing beats the original. especially pompeii! Nick really had a chance to bask in the limelight that performance.

I saw BMG do this song and it was actually much better than it looks/sounds on this video. It was very much a tribute and part of the "how to be a rockstar" theme as opposed to being a true cover attempt. The only band that does decent covers of PF is the Australian Pink Floyd. They're actually quite good, and for those of us who saw Pink in the 80's it's a decent substitute in concert.
