I love taking our Newmar Dutch Star motorcoach back to its "birthplace" in Northern Indiana--a town called Nappanee. Nappanee is truly a step back in time and a refreshing change; what makes it very interesting is the large population of Amish. Naturally the Amish farm the area but they also work at the Newmar plant crafting various pieces for the motorcoaches.

On the most recent visit for warranty service the routine unfolded like this: Newmar picks the coach up at 6:00 am and returns it at 3: 30 pm--I spend the day in the vehicle I tow.

Take note of the shots taken while having a local Amish craftsman, Carlysle Lehman of FOCAL wood products, make some enhancements to the dining table--his grandfather came to visit in his buggy--the ultimate spectrum spread; 1 horspower vs 425!

I noticed a lot of tractors out and about and a fair amount of International Harvesters--it dawned on me the perfect song for the slideshow!

I hope Craig Morgan won't mind the newest version of his video...

  • @Haven2U I don't think anybody would, in modern times, consider "abominable" in terms of a god (I'm assuming you're referencing a Christian concept of "God." Abominable meaning "an abomination to god" is just...wrong. A word meaning "itself in reference to X".. wtf? At any rate, spend more than 1 week in that town, with an open mind, and find yourself in a town of the past. And it's a bad thing.

  • @ptatich The word "abominable" refers to something that is an abomination to...God.

  • Holy crap...I hate country music...Why am i attracted to this song >.>''''

  • 5 miles an hour! Lol

  • yes, nappanee is a step back in time. unfortunately, this is not a good thing. never have i experienced a town so backward in logic and rationale as this abominable safe-haven for fundamentalists, extremists, sexists, and racists.

  • WOW!! I lived there three years ago.. for eight awesome years! I miss it so bad.. it is beautiful and homey... I now live in Texas : ( big difference... I am so glad you put this video up here.. I am really homesick!
