At the last practice day for the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond at around midday Paul met Luther on the practice ground. At this time he was in a slump of form having missed the cut in 3 of the last 4 events; both he and his caddy, Darren, reported that all Paul's bad shot were pulls -- low and left.
Luther quickly identified that Paul had 3 subtle characteristics:
Paul at 5'7" had long arms.
His chin was down at address
His takeaway move was too flat and beneath his Biomechanical Optimum swing plane.
Consequently, Paul's forearms rolled excessively which also stopped the wrists hinging correctly throughout the swing.
