@burmaroadie Stay away from 60i for the most part unless you really know what your doing. My camcorder does 60i and only Windows Media Player can play it Mp4 files back right.
Also Sony Vegas is not the best for encoding 60i. I think Magic Bullit is good for 60i.

Very nice...you put in a lot of work. Wish you had put in graphics of locations so I would have known where were.
I would love to go there and shoot.

Thanks again, I just ordered that 45x you mentioned for my GH2. What do you think of the Computar's TV lenses on the m43?
-
@Zam919 I have seen the SLR Magic Lenses. However, I don't think that lens will really give me any more than my Sigma 30mm F1.4 does. I did buy a .45x ultra wide adapter for $25 to use on my 14mm F2.5 though. Nothing like a 6mm F2.5 lens with no vignetting.

@mpgxsvcd Oh ok, thanks for the headsup. Hey, have you purchased on of the SLR Magic lenses yet? I got the 26mm 1.4 and its alot of fun. It vignettes etc. but its really sharp in the middle, gives an interesting bokeh and looks really filmic and of course works well in low light...and its only 70 dollars..Im going to post some footage soon

Enjoyed your vacation flick. Thanks for sharing. I too am curious about what lenses you used/took on your trip.
Hi there
Nice vacation vid I am a rock climbing mom and was at our local regionals filming with a new hd camera and wondered about 1080i mode vs. 1080p @24F. I have a cannon 200 and have some other choices of 60i, pf30, pf 24. If you have any input love to hear it. Otherwise I'll just enjoy your vids. Thanks

@burmaroadie It appears we have more than rock climbing in common. My 4 yr old daughter also does horse back riding like your family appears to enjoy. I never use 1080i because of deinterlacing issues. For indoor rock climbing your best bet is 1080p @ 30 FPS or 30 PSF as it is sometimes called. It will give you smooth motion for the more dynamic moves and high resolution as well. Also make sure you encode to the highest bit rate possible. 16 megabits per second or more is necessary for 1080p.
