This is my 1st video. It's about my pet lovebird. He loves to chew on paper.

  • i think ur "he" is actually a "she"

  • really? what makes you think that?

  • probably a female bird since they do this for their nest. They cut out paper, stuff it in their feathers and take it back to their nest. That is what my lovebird did before laying eggs

  • you have my vote!

  • My friend's lovebird does the same thing.

  • Mine likes to chew on leaves...and my finger

  • mine does that too!

  • happy is proba a girl. female love birds shred paper and stick it under there wings. males can do this but its more likely for the females to do it.

  • ooh thnx for telling me :]

  • You're wrong. Males also paticipate in nest making, and birds sometimes find it fun to play with paper they don't only use it to make nests.

  • well i wasnt judgin on visual. i was judging on the actions that this bird does. females shred paper for nests

  • I have a pair and my boy, Happy, shreds like this Happy. Merry is the female and is even better at shredding. She sticks them under her back feathers to carry them. So cute! Lovebirds are the best.

  • Actually I did a little research and there is no way to visually tell the difference between male and female lovebirds (of that species). The only way you could tell the difference of sex from that video is if the lovebird displayed a characteristic that is specific to either a male or a female lovebird.
