What has allways amazed me about pikes peak is the complete lack of safety regarding spectators. If something ever happens you can bet that there will be a lawsuit that could very possably put an end to this great event.

@rayar66 Well, in fairness things have happened and it hasn't shut down the race. I guess to some extent it relies on common sense and the much of the time that gets people through. It isn't as crazy as the Baja 1000 or something like that but at the same time it lets the spectator have some responsibility and doesn't conform to this padded world that everything seems to go toward. I guess that aspect is a part that I enjoy and I just hope that people use their brain when they pick a place

Wow thats lot of oil! It looked like pretty thinned out.

@snowscum Yeah, he had a few issues along the way. Brakes went out, oil spewing and fuel line issues… all together still added up to a win!

Some crazy things to look for. 1:44 guys running across the road. You can just barely make him out but you can hear the engine blip as spencer was figuring out what to do about it.

4:45 front left wheel leaves the road for a spit second. Spencer says "yeah, you just point it straight through there… Come on, it doesn't even have time to droop!"

8:32 oil slick! 3 cars blew a motor here and the road looks nasty!

9:13- near off! Wow, that was a close one. Wind maybe, but a great save!

@snowscum That's actually oil. He's guessing a bit under a quart actually. It got a smidge warm in there…
